The AFC North and AFC West are battling to see which division can have the biggest logjam of teams with .500 or better records.

Currently, the AFC West is winning it. All four of the teams in their division currently have winning records and the first-place team is separated from the last-place team by just one game.

AFC West Standings

Rank Team Record
1 Chiefs 7-4
2 Chargers 6-5
3 Broncos 6-5
4 Raiders 6-5

The uncertain nature of this divisional race will make Week 13’s “Sunday Night Football” matchup all the more interesting.

Two of the AFC West teams are do battle on national television after their battle was flexed from the Sunday afternoon slot to the night slot. The first-place Chiefs will have to stave off competition from the third-place Broncos if they want to continue to lead the division — or better yet, extend their advantage over the other teams in the division.

Kansas City was favored to win the division before the season and has recently shaken off a cold start to climb up in the standings. Can they continue their rise? Or will the Broncos — who opened as 10-point underdogs — make a game out of this?

Below is more about the Week 13 matchup, plus everything to know about how to watch “Sunday Night Football.”

Who plays on ‘Sunday Night Football’ tonight?

  • Matchup: Broncos at Chiefs
  • Location: Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

The Broncos (6-5) are traveling to Kansas City to face the Chiefs (7-4) in a game that will decide whether the Chiefs will stay in first place in the packed AFC West.

All four teams in the AFC West are currently 6-5 or better. The Chiefs hold a slim, one-game lead on the Broncos, Chargers and Raiders but will hope to knock Denver down a peg this week. The Chiefs are coming off a bye and Andy Reid holds a 19-3 career record after a week off. So, that would seemingly give the Chiefs a massive edge in this game.

The Chiefs have won four games in a row. Their offense has still meandered along at times, but the team’s defense has been excellent of late. Moving Chris Jones back to defensive tackle from defensive end has made a massive difference for the pass rush and the entire stop unit, so expect him to keep getting run there.

Jones will look to get pressure on Teddy Bridgewater behind an offensive line that has been banged up in recent weeks. And Bridgewater himself got knocked around last week in the Broncos’ 28-13 win over the Chargers and had to miss a little time. Denver will need him healthy if they want a chance to beat the heavily favored Chiefs.

Denver has lost 11 consecutive games against Kansas City. Peyton Manning started the last game that the Broncos won in September of 2015.
