When is the 2022 NBA All-Star Game? Date, location, TV channel

The NBA’s 75th anniversary season will also include the league’s 71st All-Star Weekend, headlined by the Sunday showcase – the All-Star Game.

The league’s first All-Star Game was first played at  Boston Garden on March 2, 1951, during the league’s fifth season. The game showcases the league’s top 24 stars going up against each other in an exhibition contest to cap-off the festivities of the All-Star Weekend.

When is the 2022 NBA All-Star Game?

The 71st annual NBA All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 20, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, home of the Cavaliers, during the NBA’s 75th anniversary season.

This was an announced by league commissioner Adam Silver back on Nov. 1, 2018.

This would be the third All-Star game held in Cleveland, after two previous editions in 1981 and 1997. Coincidentally, those were anniversary years as well – 1981 (35th season) and 1997 (50th season).

In fact, it was during the 1997 All-Star Weekend at the Richfield Coliseum that the league unveiled it’s ’50 Greatest Players’.

The game, which would be the fifth to be played under the new format of roster selection by team captains, will be nationally telecasted on TNT (Turner Network Television).
