The CFL playoffs kicked off Sunday with the Division Semi-Finals.

In the first game, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats used a huge second quarter to build a cushion before cruising to an 11-point win over the Montreal Alouettes. After falling behind 3-0, Hamilton ooutscored Montreal 20-0 in the second period to take a commanding 20-3 lead intoo halftime and never looked back. On a snowy afternoon at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field, the Tiger-Cats took advantage of four Montreal turnovers and advanced to the Division Finals despite being outgained 410-237.

The second game featured more drama with the Saskatchewan Roughriders outlasting the Calgary Stampeders in overtime. After both teams kicked in a field goal in the first overtime, Roughriders’ kicker Brett Lauther drilled a 34-yard field goal in the second overtime after Calgary missed on a 44-yard attempt on the opening possession of the second overtime.
