Browns Kareem Hunt reportedly out several weeks

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt is expected to miss a few weeks with a calf injury suffered in Sunday’s loss, Ian Rapoport reported for NFL Network. Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters the injury was “signifiant” and he’d be out “weeks.”

Hunt is expected to be put in injured reserve, Rapoport said.

It’s another injury for the Browns as they mount up through six weeks of the regular season. Hunt left the field on a cart in the fourth quarter of 33-29 loss on Sunday. Lead back Nick Chubb was already out with calf injury he sustained the week prior.

The Browns also started the day without No. 1 wide receiver Jarvis Landry and starting tackles Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills Jr. Quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is already dealing with a reported torn labrum, nearly re-injured that shoulder on a sack by J.J. Watt. He left the game for the injury tent, but returned on the next possession much like when he initially hurt the shoulder.

Mayfield left again late and was wearing a sling after the game. He told reporters he thinks he dislocated his shoulder on his non-throwing arm.

The Browns are on a short week. They’re hosting the Denver Broncos on Thursday night.
